Local distilleries:

Canadian Mist is made from Georgian Bay water at the Canadian Mist Distillers Limited distillery in Collingwood, Ontario.

The "Mist", as locals call it, has been in Collingwood since 1967 and by 1983 grew to be America's largest-selling Canadian whisky. The Canadian company is a subsidiary of the Brown-Forman company which is based in Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.A.

Canadian Mist launched its "Collingwood" label in recent years, creating not only another whisky, but also a souvenir bottle for residents and visitors alike.

For more about Canadian Mist, go to:

The company does not offer tours at its Collingwood distillery, but Canadian Mist is available at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario store located on First Street at the junction of Hurontario Street (just north of the Loblaw Great Foods store).
